Having trouble breathing can be scary. For some kids, finding out that they have asthma means feeling different from their classmates or friends. Sometimes, kids with asthma don&#8217;t take their medicine when they need to because they don&#8217;t want others to know they have asthma. But when they don&#8217;t take their medicine, the wheezing or coughing gets worse. Here are some ideas about how to better deal with asthma so you can be active and have fun, just like everybody else.<br />
Children younger than 5 usually use a nebulizer instead of an inhaler. This machine creates a mist of the medication that can be easily inhaled using a mask. To make treatment time easier, keep a box of &#8220;special&#8221; toys that are only used at treatment time. Include cassette tapes, books, puzzles and videos that help to make this a special time.</p>

<p>Your body gets cholesterol in two ways: your body makes some of it and the rest comes from your diet. Eating too much of foods with high cholesterol can hurt you. These foods are animal products such as meats, poultry, fish, eggs, butter and whole milk. Plant foods such as fruit, vegetables and cereal don&#8217;t have cholesterol.</p>
<p>But beware. Some foods that don&#8217;t have animal products may have trans fats, which cause your body to create more cholesterol. Also, getting too much saturated fat found in foods such as some vegetable oils and items made with them can also cause the body to make too much cholesterol.</p>
<p>Blood cholesterol is measured in milligrams per deciliter of blood (mg/dL). Your total blood cholesterol generally falls into these categories:</p>

<p>      Desirable &#8211; Less than 200 mg/dL.<br />

Although a woman can become pregnant at any time, if you have a steady partner and are sexually active on a frequent basis, your risks of becoming pregnant are far greater than someone who only engages in intercourse a couple of times a year. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Exercise is one of the healthiest things you can do for yourself. That&#8217;s because physical activity helps your body more effectively use your blood sugar &#8211; not just during your workout, but for several hours after.</p>
<p>Blood sugar (or glucose) is a fuel that the body uses for activity. When your muscles work hard, they call upon the glucose in your blood for energy. This happens during and after exercise. How hard you exercise and how long you exercise affects the amount of glucose in your system. Exercise encourages the body to transfer sugar to where it&#8217;s supposed to go &#8211; your cells &#8211; rather than lingering in the blood. In overweight people, exercise may help the body learn to reverse some of its resistance to insulin, meaning cells are better able to recognize and use insulin.</p>
<p>But exercise alone does not do the trick. Glucose needs insulin, which helps unlock the doors to the cells so that the sugar can enter and be used for energy. If you don&#8217;t have enough insulin available, your blood sugar levels may actually increase after exercise. Remember, your body is suddenly working harder and is pouring sugar into the bloodstream to keep up with the demand. If not enough insulin is available to unlock the doors to the cells, then the sugar can back up into your bloodstream.</p>
<p>If your diabetes is well controlled, you shouldn&#8217;t have problems with exercising. Exercise helps you maintain good blood sugar numbers on a regular basis.</p>

Many people for many reasons have irregular bowel function. In some cases, the irregularity lasts beyond the condition that caused it. The bowels by themselves develop bad habits that can be retrained with suitable exercises and education. Normal bowel habits not only improve the quality of life, they help prevent several common diseases&#8211;for example, diverticulitis and fecal impaction. Gall stones, appendicitis, colon cancer, hiatal hernia, diabetes, and heart disease have also been related to the quality of bowel movements and the foods that affect them.<br />
Bowel training reestablishes the bowel&#8217;s normal reflexes by repeating a routine until it becomes a habit. Naturally the patient must be able and willing to cooperate. Some patients are so convinced they need daily laxatives that they are afraid to do without them. It takes time for a changed diet to effect the bowels and for the bowel to regain its normal rhythm.
